Overview
This important interactive, one day program gives participants an opportunity to explore the concepts of Positive Psychology. Being very aware of what goes wrong in our own and our patients/clients' lives, this workshop will assist participants to identify and cultivate their strengths and learn strategies to enhance their own happiness and well being and that of their patients/clients by identifying what brings you happiness and pursuing these elements to perpetuate it.
Outline
This is an interactive workshop where participants get the opportunity to explore the concepts of positive psychology and see how these can be adapted to their own and their patient's/client's lives and work. It will involve:
- Looking for positive resources and strengths of the person
- Identifying the core virtues of positive psychology consistent across all cultures
- Cultivating the core strengths and virtues
- Identifying interventions to assist people to remain positive and fulfilled
- Learning ways to improve resilience, optimism and happiness
Facilitator
Professor Prasuna Reddy is a practising health psychologist and is director of Health Services Research at Flinders and Deakin Universities. She is a recognised expert in her field and has trained medical health professionals and psychologists in Australia and overseas in this specialist area.
