Overview
Respiratory disorders are more common and have potentially more serious consequences in children than in adults. The rates of hospital admissions and GP visits for respiratory conditions are certainly higher in children. Health professionals in every area of practice should have a thorough understanding of paediatric respiratory assessment and the management of children with respiratory disorders which differs markedly from that of adults.
Outline
This one day program, run in conjunction with the Royal Children's Hospital, is an extensive update for health professionals wishing to improve their knowledge and skills in the current assessment and management of:
- Asthma
- Bronchiolitis
- Croup
- Whooping cough
- Pneumonia
- Correct use of inhaled respiratory devices
