Overview

This day program will give health professionals the opportunity to improve their skills and knowledge in caring for the person with lung disease.  There is a high practical component to this program.

Outline

Topics include:

• Review of anatomy and physiology of the lungs
• Respiratory assessment
• Auscultation skills
• Blood gas interpretation
• Asthma and COPD update 
• Oxygen Therapy
• Pneumothorax and intercostal catheters
